Impressions from Torino (Turin), Italy
This city is a real treasure, known around the world for its art galleries, palaces, piazzas, parks and museums. A museum was also the purpose of our trip to Turin, the one that houses the world's second largest collections of Egyptian antiquities, after Cairo: The Egyptian Museum.
It is an amazing exhibition of sarcophagi, mummies, books of the dead, statues dating back to 3500 BC. The most impressive ensemble of the whole museum is the tomb of Kha and his wife Merit, one of the few tombs to have survived intact down through the centuries.
And yes, they have mummies. To see the skeleton of a person who died several thousands years ago was one of a kind experience.
Plan a trip to Turin, it's worth it! As for me, I intend to go back soon :)
