Cosmetic products: skin care summer essentials
Hi, beautiful people! Because you gave me a positive feedback on my post about Summer essentials makeup products, I made a similar post about the skin care products that are best for this time of the year. So, here we go!
1. A good cleanser
The most important part in a skin care regiment is the cleansing. This is essential for a healthy, radiant and young-looking skin. You have to clean your face properly to remove not only the makeup, but the dead skin cells and dirt, in the morning and before going to sleep. No, splashing your face with water in the shower doesn't count. Yes, you have to use a cleanser even if you don't wear make-up :p
My recommendation: Kiehl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash . I like that it is soap free and paraben free, it creates a rich foam and lifts away impurities, leaving the skin fresh and soft.
2. A refreshing tonic
I don't know why, but for the past few years the old fashion tonic was let aside and the micellar and thermal waters came forward. I recently rediscovered how fresh my skin feels after using a tonic and how many improvements I see: less sebum, smaller pores, skin is clearer and looks healthier.
My recommendation: Natura Siberica Cleansing Tonic: I love that it cleans the skin and removes dirt and oils, without drying it. Bonus, it has a really nice herbal smell and it's natural and organic. You should check Natura Siberica's products, because they are without silicon, mineral oil and parabens. PS: this product can be used as a stand alone cleanser, but I always prefer to wash my face with water and a foamy product and afterwards to use this as a tonic.
3. A trustworthy moisturizer with SPF
I remember that I few years ago, all the day creams with SPF felt sticky and heavy. But those day are far gone, now you can't even feel the difference between products with SPF and the classic ones. But your skin loves it, because the SPF protects it from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which causes premature skin ageing.
My recommendation: Clinique Superdefense™ Daily Defense Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 I love it because it's oil fee, absorbs quickly, it has antioxidants and creates a healthy moisture barrier to protect the skin from external factors.
4. The thermal water
Thermal water is basically mineral water that comes from thermal springs located deep underground. It is recognised for its therapeutic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. I love to use it in the summer after spending time on the beach because it calms the sun burns and reduces the redness. For extra freshens, I keep it in my fridge :P
5. A night treatment
In the summer we have the tendency to do a lot of stuff: eat a lot, party a lot, travel a lot and...sleep less. During the night the skin regenerates, it fights the environmental and natural damages, collagen and antioxidants are produced to repair and rebuild the cells. That's why it's so important to sleep enough. More sleep = glowing, healthy and young skin for a longer time.
But, let's be real, who gets to have 8 hour of sleep when there are so many things to do? So, a little help wouldn't hurt, that's why I always apply a night treatment before going to bed. Think about all that hours of nourishment and hydration that you will provide your skin with <3
My recommendation: Clinique Turnaround™ Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer. After 2 or 3 weeks of using this product I saw a huge difference in my skin. In the morning it looked radiant, fresh, soft and moisturised. I love that is not greasy at all and a little goes a long way.
My dears, I hope you find this useful! Lots of hugs!
