Maternity clothes guide
Congratulation for your pregnancy! Some beautiful things are going to happen in you life and your body changing is one of them. I know, there will be moments when you will find it less beautiful, but still amazing. Just think that all this changes happens because you are growing a tiny little human inside you! Isn't that a miracle? ❤️
With all this changes, there will be a moment when your old clothes won't fit your belly anymore and you will have to do some shopping. Sounds like a great plan, doesn't? 😁 Except that you will be tempted to buy a lot of stuff you don't need, because in the end you will only be pregnant for 9 months.
That's why I did a short list for you with the must have items you need to invest in.
- Maternity leggings. Depends a lot of the weather, but if it's cold, invest in some tights also
- At least one pair of maternity jeans. I have jeans over the bump and under the bump style. I definitely prefer the first ones because they are more comfortable
- One pair of comfy trousers
- A few maternity T-shirts
- Maternity lounge wear
- Maternity nightwear
- Cotton underwear and bras. For your own comfort, buy the ones designed specially for pregnant women.
- A few dresses
- Travel socks - great to prevent swollen feet.
My advice is to wait until you don't fit in your normal clothes and only after that to start shopping maternity clothes, because you can't know in advance how much weight you will put on or how big will be your baby bump. Usually, you will need maternity clothes starting from the second trimester.
It's a good idea to buy the clothes gradually, because in the last few months your body will change a lot and very fast. The clothes you bought in the second trimester won't fit you anymore. Also, take a look in your closet and search for oversized items you bought before, loose summer dresses or elastic fabric clothes, they might fit you well during pregnancy.
The best advice I can give you is to buy comfortable clothes, in your size or even larger. I know there will be moments you won't feel sexy anymore and maybe you will want to compensate with sexy tight clothes. Believe me, it's not a good idea. The most important is to keep the belly safe and to feel comfortable. You don't need another reason to feel cranky :)
This are some of the things I have bought (or similar) and I am happy with:
